The New York State Crime Victims’ Memorial

The New York State Crime Victims’ Memorial was established in April of 1996.

Located directly behind the Legislative Office Building, on the grounds of the Empire State Plaza, the memorial features a large limestone and calcite boulder as a permanent monument dedicated to victims of crime and their families, as well as survivors of crime in New York State. A brick walkway leads up to the monument with the names of victims of crime inscribed on the bricks.
